How to Make an ATS‑Friendly Resume

Follow these steps to ensure your resume can be parsed by Applicant Tracking Systems and quickly scanned by recruiters.

  1. Use a clean, single‑column template with clear section headings (Experience, Skills, Education).
  2. Keep graphics minimal; avoid tables for core content; ensure all text is selectable.
  3. Use standard fonts and consistent date/location formats.
  4. Add role‑specific keywords from the job description into bullets and summary.
  5. Lead with impact: quantify results (growth %, revenue, efficiency, KPIs).
  6. Export to PDF and verify formatting; run an ATS check before applying.
